SHILLONG: Khalsa Warrior and Matrisangha won their respective matches of the SCA Second Division Cricket League at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Monday.
After a break of a few days, the League began again with Khalsa Warrior’s 96-run victory over YAWS.
Electing to bat first, the Warriors made a mammoth 183/4 in 20 overs with Ravi Singh’s 72 off 40 balls and Parnam Singh’s 64 from 46 leading the way. Sayeed Ali took 2/30 for YAWS, who, in reply, were restricted to 87/9 in their 20 overs.
Lippu Singh took 3/17 for the winners.
In the second game, Matrisangha beat Polo XI by five wickets. Polo XI chose to bat first but were dismissed for 113 in 19.2 overs. Danish top-scored with 38, while Ranjit took 4/12. In reply, Matrisangha made 116/5 in 19.4 overs, with Robert scoring 41. Narayan bagged 2/25.
Tuesday’s match will see the first semifinal of the Super Division take place between Malki CC and TNT Sputnik at 8:30am.
