Value education programme held

SHILLONG: On the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda a Value Education Programme for Parents was held recently on the premises of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Cherrapunjee.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. K K Paul, Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya. The programme was presided over by Most Revered Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math.

In his speech, Dr. K K Paul reminded the audience of Swamiji’s contributions to nation building and the importance of value education in the present scenario.

Revered Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj discussed about the role of parents in inculcating values in their children. Speakers advised the parents to be ethical and practice the simple principles propagated by Swami Vivekananda, so that they can guide their children properly to make them worthy citizens of ‘Mother India’. About 500 delegates, comprising teachers and parents, attended the meeting.
