SHILLONG: Mawryngkneng outperformed Umpling SC 5-0 in an U-14 Football Tournament, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, at Polo Grounds on Thursday.
Mebanshanskhem Mukhim (5th and 49th minutes), Pesius Kharduit (25th, 41st) and Remeki Pyngrope (59th) were the goal-scorers for the victors, who have consolidated their place at the top of Cluster II with a perfect 12 points from four games.
In the other match, Nangkiew Irat squeezed out a 1-0 win over Mawlai SC. Robertstar Malngiang (50th) was the lone scorer in the Cluster I game.
On Friday, Pohkseh SC will play Mylliem SC, while Nongumlong SC go up against Laitlyngkot SC. Both fixtures will be held at 4:00pm at Polo Grounds.
