4 victories in U-14 football

SHILLONG: Three matches of the U-14 Football Tournament, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, ended 1-0 on Saturday, while the final match of the day saw Umpling take down Lumshyiap 3-0 at Second Ground, Polo.

In the first game, a Laitumkhrah player was found to be guilty of a handball in the box and Rapborlang Jana converted the penalty kick for his team, Marbisu.

The 12 noon fixture then saw Smit defeat Shillong Lajong by a single goal scored by Mebannangkhraw Muthoh in the 53rd minute, while Laitkor beat Mawklot by the same margin thanks to Aldrin Kharkongor (55th minute) in the two o’clock match.

Umpling were able to win by a bigger margin through a brace by Banteilang Lamare (16th, 44th) and one goal from Mebanpynshngain Nonglong (23rd).

The next match will be played on Monday between Royal Wahingdoh and Umsohsun at 4:00pm.
