‘Active women participation essential for economic progress’

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Social Welfare Board, Shillong, celebrated the International Women’s Day, at “Community Hall Warbah, Nongkrern, (IingBalieh) on March 8 with the help of Nongkrem Youth Development Association, Nongkrem.

The celebration was graced by L. Diengdoh, Commissioner & Secretary, Personnel & A Ras as the Chief Guest.

In her speech, she stressed on the role of Women in participating for economic progress and stressed on the need for participating in the Social Development even as she called all women to stand together to fight against the social issues which has hampered the development of the society and the State as a whole.
