Kharshiing elevated

SHILLONG: Congress member John Kharshiing, who lost the race for the party ticket to contest Shillong seat, has been elevated to the post of Vice President of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

The MPCC president DD Lapang in a statement issued to the media on Monday said that with a view to revamp the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Kharshiing has been elevated to the position of Vice President of MPCC with immediate effect.

The posts currently being held by Kharhiing is the Vice-President,East Khasi Hills District Congress Committee, and Member, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Executive Committee.
