SHILLONG: Shillong Traffic Police and 1st MLP will meet in the final of the SCA Coporate Cum Office League at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Thursday at 10:00am.

STP beat 6th MLP by just one wicket in the first semifinal on Wednesday, while 1st MLP got past MeECL by two wickets in the second match.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, 6th MLP were restricted to a very modest 92/8 in their allotted 20 overs, with Deepak Thapa scoring 24 runs. Pawan Chettri took 3-7 in four overs.

In reply, the traffic police needed five runs off the last three balls with just one wicket in hand when Shan Kharmawphlang hit a six off the next ball to take his team to victory.

STP made 94/9 in 19.4 overs. Kharmawphlang top-scored with 28 runs, while Sameer Quereshi claimed 3-13 in four overs.

In the second game, MeECL won the toss and also chose to bat first.

But in a repetition of the first contest, they were also kept to a sub-100 total, finishing on 96/8 in 20 overs.

Sandy Swer scored a run-a-ball 25, while Horen Brahma bagged 3-13 in four overs.

1st MLP were then struggling at 54/5 when a partnership of 34 runs between Roof Raja and Pentum put them in the ascendency.

However, a few more quick wickets towards the end kept the electricity team interested, but eventually, the police reached the target for the loss of eight wickets in good time, crossing the line in 16.4 overs.

Kumar Sewa top-scored with a quick 26 from 17 deliveries, while Sandy Swer took 2-12 in 2.4 overs.
