Meghalaya drivers bag top awards at Sonapur event

SHILLONG: Drivers from Meghalaya came away with some of the top awards, with Ewellson Lyngdoh also bagging the overall champion title at the 3rd Torque Power Challenge from March 15-16.

The event was organised by the Extreme Games Association of Assam at Rudraksha Health Resort and Spa in Sonapur, Assam.

Lyngdoh won the below 1000cc autocross and the sprint open class, while coming third in the SUV category.

Other drivers from Meghalaya who claimed top-three finishes were Brandon Bazeley, Lieh Lamare (1st in above 1000cc autocross), Larry Mukhim (1st in SUV category) and Kamalesh Das.

Results:

Below 1000cc Autocross – 1st Ewellson Lyngdoh, 2nd Unoka (Nagaland), 3rd Brandon Bazeley.

Above 1000cc Autocross – 1st Lieh Lamare, 2nd Along Aier (Nagaland), 3rd Kevin Puro (Nagaland).

SUV category Autocross – 1st Larry Mukhim, 2nd Kamalesh Das, 3rd Ewellson Lyngdoh.

Sprint Open Class – 1st Ewellson Lyngdoh, 2nd Kamalesh Das, 3rd Unoka (Nagaland).

Overall champion – Ewellson Lyngdoh.
