Workshop cum training prog at IIM Shillong

SHILLONG: IIM Shillong in collaboration with National Library Kolkata under the Ministry of Culture on Tuesday inaugurated a three-day workshop cum training programme on Management of Libraries and Information Centres in Digital Era.

The program was attended by Prof. Pavakar Rath, Dean, School of Economics Management and Information Science, Mizoram University as chief guest and workshop director Dr. R. Ramachandran, Principal Library Information Officer as guest of honour, in the presence of Prof. Amitabha De, Director IIM Shillong and chief patron of the workshop, Prof. Sanjoy Mukherjee, Chairman Library Committee IIM Shillong, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jena, Librarian, IIM Shillong, and participants from educational institutions from across the Northeastern states.

The workshop cum training is funded by National Library under the Union Ministry of Culture and aims to assist in acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge on topics such as Digital Library – Digital Resources Management, Design, Development and Maintenance of Library Websites & Library 2.0 Institutional and Knowledge Repositories, Open Source, Open Access and Open Libraries, Intellectual Property Rights, Resources Mobilization and Outsourcing to name a few.
