NONGPOH: In a set back to UDP in Ri Bhoi district, the Joint Secretary of the party and ex- MDC Field Marshal Mawphniang resigned from his post and confirmed that he would not support the party candidate Paul Lyngdoh.
Instead, the UDP leader has extended his support to the Independent candidate PBM Basaiawmoit.
Informing this, Mawphniang said that his resignation should not be interpreted as he is against UDP.
Mawphniang also informed that he would tender his resignation letter to the UDP Ri Bhoi district president Donbok Khymdeit on Friday.
