Half marathon for SVEEP awareness in Nagaland

Kohima: The Peren Half Marathon 2014, an initiative of the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign under District Election Officer was held in collaboration with Zone clusters, the bridge & PTYO at Local ground, Peren, the district headquarters on Saturday.

Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Peren Peter Lichamo said the marathon race is being organised as a part of SVEEP campaign where he called upon voters to create awareness to enhance electoral participation so that everyone know their right and exercise it. He urged the students who have attained the age of 18 to exercise their adult franchise during the election.

He also said in this election the ECI has given the new option ‘None Of The Above’ (NOTA) if the voters do not want to vote for a contesting candidate. (UNI)
