New Delhi: Bangladesh has lodged a strong protest with the Indian authorities against the killing of five Bangladeshi nationals in India territory, including one in Meghalaya earlier this week.

Four other Bangladeshi nationals were killed by Indian civilians in Tripura.

Dhaka demanded investigation into the two incidents.

Bangladesh also asked India to take appropriate actions at the earliest against those responsible in the atrocious killing.

According to reports from Bangladesh, some civilians on Indian side shot dead a 17-year-old Bangladeshi youth at Bichanakandi border in Sylhet Tuesday noon when he went there to collect wood.

Dhaka has also demanded return of the bodies to their next kith and kin.
