Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has alleged cops of a neighbouring state harassed voters in two polling stations inside Arunachal – Hasse Russa and Kamku Russa of Longding district on April 9, the day of voting for simultaneous polls in the state.

The apex students’ body urged the state to set up police outpost near the border villages to prevent such incidents in future.

The statement alleged, on the polling day, the neighbouring state police personnel came to both villages, stopped the polling process driving away all the public and polling staff.

The villages of Hasse Russa and Kamku Russa, located on the Assam-Arunachal border, are 50 km away from the district headquarters of Longding and are being inhabited by Arunchalees for last many decades, said AAPSU.

During last Panchayat elections in the area one person was killed in police firing, AAPSU reminded. (PTI)
