Deborah to campaign for Kannada actress

SHILLONG: Social Welfare Minister Deborah Marak will oversee the campaign for Kannada actress Divya Spandana in Karnataka.

She is the sitting Member of Parliament from Mandya constituency in Karnataka.

Deborah, who is also the Acting President of MPCC, has been appointed as the AICC observer for Mandya constituency to oversee the election campaign.

Divya, 31, known by her stage name as Ramya and the youngest MP is seeking re-election from Mandya.

Marak has been asked to stay in the constituency and co-ordinate with the party leaders and members to ensure the victory of the Congress candidate.

In a letter addressed to Marak, the AICC treasurer Motilal Vora said that as the party prepares to enter the decisive phase of general election , it is the duty of every Congressman to rise to the occasion and contribute their best towards the victory of the party.

The AICC sources said that Congress leader Vincent Pala has also been deputed to campaign in parts of Karnataka.
