SHILLONG: St Edmund’s School and Garo Union School were victors in their respective matches of the Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Monday.
In the first game, the Edmundians beat St Anthony’s by four wickets after the latter won the toss and batted first.
St Anthony’s were restricted to 129/9 in 25 overs, with Shubham scoring 35. Hitesh took 4-15 in three overs.
In reply, St Edmund’s reached the target for the loss of six wickets in 24.3 overs. Ram Gurung made 60 off 66 balls, while Shubham bagged two wickets for 11 runs in four overs.
Later, Garo Union School were three-wicket winners over Jail Road Boys.
After winning the toss and being put in to bat, Jail Road Boys made 124/8 in 25 overs, a similar score to the first match.
Bishnu Mahato contributed 40 runs, while Tengsram Momin finished with figures of 3-15 in five overs.
Garo Union then made 125/7 with plenty of time to spare, finishing in 19 overs.
Tengsrang top-scored with 40, while Subham claimed 3-8 in five overs.
