SHILLONG: Ruprekha School and Laban Bengalee School won their respective matches in the Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Tuesday.
Ruprekha School beat Shillong Secondary School by 25 runs.
Ruprekha School won the toss and batted first, but were bowled out for 101 in 21.4 overs.
Rahul Barua (32) and Salgrik Sangma (24) were the chief contributors with the bat, while Pritam Sarkar bagged 4-26 in five overs. Bikram Nath took 2-2 in 1.4 overs.
In reply, Shillong Secondary were skittled for 76 in 17.2 overs. Dhiraj Singh made 17 runs, while Rahul Balmiki and Rajat Kalita both claimed figures of 2-8 in 4.2 and 3 overs, respectively.
In the earlier match, Pinku Deb’s run-a-ball 36 and 35 runs from Supriyo Chanda enabled Laban Bengalee School to put up a total of 143/4 in 25 overs after winning the toss against Buddha Mandir, whose best bowler was Pankaj Chanda (2-22 in five overs).
Buddha Mandir were then dismissed for 121 in 24.1 overs, losing by 22 runs.
Rahul Barua top-scored with 31 runs, while Ajay Goswami took 2-16 in three overs.
