SHILLONG: All Meghalaya Contractor & Supplier Association (AMC&SA) has expressed their strong resentment over the biased attitude of the various Government departments in allotting work only to contractors who are close aides of politicians.

“We have received reports that several works in various departments are allotted to the close aide of politicians only even after the floating of open tenders,” AMC&SA general secretary BL Nongbri said in a statement issued here on Monday. Nongbri also threatened that the Association would not hesitate to approach the Court if the departments continue to give undue importance to the close aide of politicians in the allotment of work.

AMC&SA secretary also recalled that the association had filed a writ petition against the State Government relating to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded project.
