Suiam takes 51kg kickboxing title

SHILLONG: Hame Shaniah Suiam, the lone participant from Meghalaya in the recently concluded WAKO India Pro National Kickboxing Championship, held in Keonjhar, Odisha, won the Professional Kickboxing Fight in Ring Sport in Low-Kick Below 51kg.

Suiam had to defeat tough opponents from Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh on his way to the title.

Suiam took part under the guidance of Donny Ranee, vice president of the National Kickboxing Federation of India and president of the Meghalaya Association of Kickboxing Organisations (MAKO).

This is the first time that MAKO has won a title in a pro national championship.

Suiam is a Class 12 student of St Edmund’s College
