Agartala: BJP Tripura state committee has called for dawn to dusk strike on May 12 to press for the demand of legal action against CEO Ashutosh Jindal and re-polling in both the Loksabha seats.
Addressing media here on Tuesday BJP state president Sudhindra Dasgupta alleged that Jindal had partisan role in the election and he was failed to discharge his duties neutrally.
“Inconnivance with ruling CPI(M) Jindal mobilised entire administration for manipulating the vote against the opposition and unfortunately Election Commission of India (ECI) has not also take any action,” Dasgupta alleged.
Criticising Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers Association and Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers association, he stated that they are also equally accused of supporting the crime of Jindal and CPI(M) party.
He however, pointed out unless ECI do not take action against Jindal and accused officials of Tripura involved in rigging the vote, BJP will continue the agitation even after announcement of the result on May 16.
“According to the statement of Jindal till 1600 hours on both the election days polling was about 60 percent but after two hours he announced 85 percent voting where as maximum booths were empty,” he alleged.
Dasgupta claimed that CPI(M) has rigged average about 15-20 percent vote in Tripura with the help of the polling personnel and the video footage of a few booths, collected by the BJP is proved it.
In some booths, it appeared that CPI-M cadres had been influencing the voters since morning and in a many of the booths ruling party workers were inside the booths that was also reported to local administration and observers, he stated.
He warned if the government officers continue to become patronizers of CPI(M), BJP will take up the matter with appropriate level.
“We are in doubt how the Panchayat poll will be fair under these officers who are associated with ruling party forgetting their duties and responsibilities?” he questioned adding that the issue of the role of the officers in Loksabha poll has already been taken up with Delhi.
He alleged in connivance with CPI(M) Jindal deployed polling staff in major booths who were align to ruling party and also deputed state police instead of central paramilitary forces in most of the interior polling booths just to facilities proxy voting in favour of CPI(M).
The same practice was done in last assembly poll where CPI(M) won 50 of 60 seats miraculously and voting percentage was recorded at 94 percent, he alleged adding that the opposition could not do anything because there was no direct evidence but in Loksabha video footage was collected from a huge number of booths to prove the manipulation.
A three members team of Tripura Pradesh Congress are now in Delhi with all evidence of rigging of Loksabha poll to pursue the matter with ECI. (UNI)
