TURA: A day after former Vice President of the A’chik Mothers’ Association (AMA), Florence Ch Marak announced the dissolution of the association in the media, members of the supposedly dissolved AMA issued another statement in its original letter head refuting the claims made by the leader of the Mothers’ Association.
“We have no information and communication from the members of the AMA except the resignation of Jova Marak on health grounds. However, we have received inputs of meetings being held at Rikman Continental to form a new organization which was attended by Jova Marak.
There are some mothers who attended the meeting and signed as members present which might have been mistaken by Florence Marak as resignation,” the AMA statement read.
The released also stated that the leadership of the AMA had changed but that the association had not been dissolved.
According to the statement the AMA had also appointed Babiana Sangma as acting President to undertake office till the election of new office bearers. It informed that the next General Meeting of the AMA would be held on Mothers’ Day the 11th May to commemorate the auspicious day and to reconstitute new office bearers.
Meanwhile, the statement also warned resigned AMA members not to take the name of the AMA in any media.
