Criminals loot big at petrol pump in Umiam

SHILLONG: Close on the heels of the theft at the SBI bank at Umiam recently, unidentified miscreants on Thursday targeted a petrol pump decamping with Rs 31,3791 and an account payee cheque of Rs 2, 23, 650.

According to police, at around 9.30 pm on Thursday four armed miscreants looted Rs. 31,791 and took away one signed account payee cheque of Rs. 2, 23, 650 from M/S Dunn Auto Agency petrol pump at Umbang under Umiam police station in Ri Bhoi district.

Earlier, on May 2, miscreants stole Rs 1.5 lakh from SBI’s Umiam branch besides taking away arms of the security personnel deployed in the bank.

Police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case.
