BSF seize cash worth Rs 5 lakh

SHILLONG: BSF party of South Garo Hills District deployed at Border Outpost Baghmara seized Indian currency notes worth Rs. 5 lakh on Wednesday.

However, the Bangladeshi smuggler managed to escape taking advantage of the prevailing darkness.

BSF said that the seized cash was extortion money being carried by a linkman of an Indian insurgent group.

The seized currency notes have been handed over to the PS Baghmara for further disposal.
