11,644 electors in Arunachal chose NOTA

Itanagar: A total number of 11,644, out of 7,53,170 voters have given their mandate to NOTA (None Of The Above) in the concluding simultaneous polls for two parliamentary and 49 Assembly Constituencies in Aruanchal Pradesh held on April 9 last.

The NOTA option, which is the last button on EVM, first time introduced by the EC, was provided to voters who do not wish to vote for any candidate.

In the Assembly Elections, out of 60 members State Legislative House, the elections was conducted for 49 seats as 11 INC sponsored nominees were elected as uncontested following the withdrawals of nominations by opposition candidates.

Out of 7,53,170 states total electorates for two Lok Sabha seats, 5,96,956 voters have casted their ballots in East and West Parliamentary seats, in which 6381 have given mandate in favour of NOTA, the official report informed.

However, 4505 numbers of voters under Arunachal East Parliamentary Constituency have pressed on NOTA option while, only 1816 voters have given their mandate in West Lok Sabha seat.

The record further said that out of 6,27,363 total electorates in 49 constituencies, altogether 4,98,541 voters were participated, out of them 5323 votes have gone NOTA, the official report added. (UNI)
