John Kharshiing greets Modi

SHILLONG: Though there were no greetings from the State Congress, its vice president John Kharshiing in the capacity of the Chairman, Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was sworn in on Monday.

“Congrats! We hope GOI fulfill the National Commitment made 62 years ago to the Federation of 25 Khasi States on 17 Aug 1948,” Kharshiing tweeted in a congratulatory message to Modi.

Kharshiing also said that the Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya will seek appointment with the new Prime Minster and Home Minister to seek resolution of the Instrument of Accession and Annexed Agreement of 17 August 1948.
