Vehicle theft
On Tuesday morning, one Bolero (MN-01-W-8928) coming from Shillong turned back and sped away on seeing the police on checking duty at Sohryngkham. The police chased the Bolero and later found it abandoned at Sohryngkham Neng. During enquiry it was learnt that the Bolero belongs to one H.D. Breezelove of Demthing which was stolen by unknown miscreants. A case has been registered at Madanrting Police Station.
PDS fraud
Agnes Kharshiing, president of CSWO, lodged a complaint at Pynursla PS that on June 2 around 9 pm, one Pyrdang Khongthaw, PDS dealer of Pynter village (EKH) had sold rice from the PDS in black market.
Looting
Banbora Mawthoh lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 1 around 8 pm, unknown miscreants stole her purse containing ATM Card, cash Rs. 20,000, gold chain and gold ring valued around Rs. 1 lakh at Police Bazar, Shillong.
Theft
On May 29, unknown miscreants stole one mobile phone belonging to Atul Kumar Jain, Director, Chief Minister’s Career Guidance-cum-Counseling Centre Shillong from Alam House, Dhankheti, Shillong.
Counterfeit notes
T.T Zathang, Chief Manager & Nodal Officer, Bank of Baroda, lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that Bank of Baroda, Laitumkhrah Branch has detected two counterfeit notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 denominations.
Default
Lang Dkhar of Khliehtryshi village (WJH) lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that one Lakhon Chyrmang had borrowed Rs. 2,50,000 in 2011 but failed to repay the amount till date.
Traffic violations
In a major crack down on bike riders and SPTS buses driving without license, Sadar Traffic branch conducted drives and detected 101 cases and realized Rs. 45000 as fines during the drive which was conducted on Monday and Tuesday. East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said that the drive would continue.
