SHILLONG: The National Khasi Union on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma expressing its stiff opposition to the unnecessary expenditure on political appointees.

NKU general secretary, Shamborlang Diengdoh in the memorandum said that the Government should instead spend the same amount in the development of border areas, meet salaries of Government employees and generate employment for the youths.
