NONGSTOIN: Along with the rest of the world, World Music Day was also observed in Nongstoin, where the District Arts and Culture Society, West Khasi Hills organized a musical extravaganza at the TRYSEM Hall Deputy Commissioner Campus.

Singers and musicians from all corners of West Khasi Hills displayed their unique musical talent through indigenous musical instruments.

It was a traditional musical festival of a different kind as this was perhaps the first time that people of West Khasi Hills were able to perform in the World Music day where the District Art & Culture Society took a big step for organizing such a show.

Prominent band from Nongstoin MBFA and Innocent Lamb entertained the crowd with their own version of western music.

The DA&CS also organized a traditional singing competition where Arron L Pyngrope bagged the 1st prize, followed by Nicky Marwein in 2nd prize place and Star Blah grabbing the 3rd spot.

The Chief Guest also distributed the cash prize to all the winners and the youngest participants.
