SHILLONG: Shree Shillong Gausala that is supposed to take care of cows has faltered in looking after the animals as a pregnant cow died because of the negligence of the managing committee on Sunday.
It was learnt that the cow fractured one of its leg because of the uneven and slippery floor. A care taker told that members of the managing committee hardly looked after this place and they do not even repair the planks of the floor.
The cow died at around 2 am on Sunday and was not removed until 12 noon creating an unhygienic atmosphere for other animals.
It was learnt that hardly any committee member visits the Gaushala and no one pays heed to its cleanliness.
