Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Post Master

SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawlai Circle has opposed the decision of the Department of Posts to fill a total number of 11 vacant posts of Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Post Master by people who hailed from Uttar Pradesh.

The FKJGP members on Thursday had tried to meet Superintendent of Post Dinanath Prasad demanding the cancellation of their appointment.

However, Prasad refused to meet the FKJGP members.

The members then met the Director of Postal Service, Joseph Sailo, to seek clarification on the issue.

Interestingly, Sailo told the FKJGP members that normally, they never call for any interviews since the post are being filled up as per the recommendations of the Rangbah Shnong.

“This policy of calling for an interview is being done only in Meghalaya which is strange,” FKJGP Mawlai president Marbud Dkhar said, adding, “We would be forced to agitate if the appointment of these 11 people are not cancelled.”
