Vet hospital being run by chaukidar

NONGSTOIN: The people of Aradonga, Athiabari have appealed to the government to help alleviate grievances of livestock farmers by reactivating the veterinary hospital and animal husbandries, which has been mostly non-functional for years. The people of Athiabari area, especially farmers rearing cattle have, reportedly, been hit hard by the long absence of doctors and staff in the veterinary.

Interestingly, the lone veterinary, which serve thousands of livestock farmers in the area is being run by the chaukidar, Hillda Sangma. The chaukidar, under many circumstances, provide medicines during emergencies to the farmers in Aradonga area however, many farmers who are skeptic of her expertise take their sick animals to Boko, Assam for treatment.
