Murder attempt

A woman lodged a complaint at Nangalbibra PS that on July 12 around 12.15 am, one Tapsi R Marak forcibly entered her house at Rongsa Awe (SGH) and attempted to kill her and her ten-year-old daughter. As a result, her daughter sustained injuries.

Theft cases

In a repeat act, unknown miscreants stole construction materials belonging to M/s BSC C&C JV at Mawlyndep in West Khasi Hills on July 5.

Nijabitha R Sangma lodged a complaint at Songsak PS that on July 13 around 3 am, unknown miscreants stole her new Bolero Pick-up from her residence at Songsak Agitokgre (EGH).

A.H. Puwein lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on July 11, two persons Shemphanglin Wanniang and Marshall Wanniang stole GI pipes, grills and other materials from Banglapluh village (WKH).

On July 11 evening, Police arrested two persons Lambok Syiemlieh (21 yrs) and Wanstar Shabong (19 yrs) in connection with a burglary case under Umiam PS.

On July 8 night, unknown miscreants broke into United Christian Academy at Hawakhana, Tura (WGH), ransacked the office and stole one computer monitor.

Pick-pocketing case

On July 14 around 3 pm, one Dariiung Suchiang of Sahsniang (WJH) was pick-pocketed by unknown miscreants at Bara Bazar, Shillong.

Cheating case

Sandeep Sethi lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on February 15, 2014, one Sunil Jain borrowed Rs. 4 lakh from him with a promise to return the same within three months. However, till date he has not returned the money.

Extortion case

Police arrested one Tingstone Marak in connection with extortion cases under Bajengdoba PS.

Threat cases

On July 13 evening, an unidentified person called up Laitumkhrah Police Station over phone and threatened the staff with dire consequences.

Assault case

On July 13 around 3.30 pm, one Puran Kharka (51 yrs) assaulted Santo Bahadur Kharka at Rilbong, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

On July 13 around 6 pm, Bisila Nongkhlaw (49 yrs) and Veronica Nongkhlaw assaulted one Denis Kharkongor (27 yrs) at Mawshbuit (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

On July 12 around 9.45 pm, one Sam Lyngdoh and his associates assaulted two persons Kyntiew Sun (28) and Fernando Nongkynrih (23) at Lummawbah, Upper Shillong.

On July 11 around 8 pm, two persons Starlin Marwein and Peter Khawar assaulted Nicholas Sangrin in his house at Mawlan village (WKH). Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to PHC Nonglang.

On July 11 around 3 pm, unknown miscreants assaulted one Suresh Rai (27 yrs) at Umkaliar, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

On July 7 around 6.30 pm, one Pengki D Shira assaulted Sangitha N Marak at RC Road, Tura (WGH).

Molestation case

On July 11 between 11.30 pm and 12 midnight one Donald Wanshong entered the residence of a woman at Sonatala under Mawsynram PS (EKH) and molested her.

Hit-and-run case

On June 28 around 11 am, one bus (AS-01DC-8494) dashed against one motorcycle (ML-07A-0700) ridden by Khoka Hussain (35 yrs) at Gaptuli (WGH). As a result, the motorcycle rider sustained injuries and was shifted to CHC Phulbari where he succumbed to his injuries. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
