Lisbon: Portuguese champions Benfica have signed striker Bebe from Manchester United on a four-year deal, the club announced on Friday.

The 24-year-old, whose full name is Tiago Manuel Dias Correia, signed with United in 2010 but spent much of his career with the English club on loan.

After spells with Turkish side Besiktas and Rio Ave, he spent last season at Pacos de Ferreira before finally agreeing terms with Benfica, ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Benfica were guided by coach Jorge Jesus to the Portuguese title, domestic Cup and domestic League Cup last season, while they narrowly lost the Europa League final against Sevilla on penalties. (Reuters)
