Mawlai surprise Laban in 1st Division

SHILLONG: Mawlai upset Laban 2-1 in their First Division football league match, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, at the JN Sports Complex, Polo, on Monday.
Laban took the lead through K Pale in the 13th minute, but parity was restored after Mawlai were awarded a penalty later on in the first half.
AC Kharmawphlang stepped up and converted the spot kick in the 28th minute.
Thereafter both teams were deadlocked until Mawlai grabbed a decisive chance and scored in second half stoppage time through R Ingty, giving them a narrow victory.
On Tuesday Lawmali Pyllun will face Shillong United at 4:00pm.
