SPTS, SSPTS fares to be hiked from Aug 1

SHILLONG: The Secretary, Meghalaya Urban Development Authority (MUDA), has informed the general public that the bus fares for Shillong Public Transport Service (SPTS) buses under JNNURM will be revised from August 1.

The fares upto 3 km would be Rs.5, upto 8 km (Rs.10), upto 13 km (Rs.15) and beyond 13 km the rate is Rs.20 within the specific routes of Shillong.

The MUDA Secretary, further, informed that in view of the increase in fuel and maintenance costs, the fares of the Shillong Supplementary Public Transport Service (Maxi cabs) will also be increased from August 1.

The fare upto a distance of 8 km has been fixed at Rs.10 and for distances beyond 8 km the rate has been fixed at Rs.20.
