SHILLONG: Six Meghalayans have been selected for the Indian kickboxing team to take part in the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO) World Cadet & Junior Kickboxing Championship, which will be held in Rimini, Italy, in September.
The six are Donny Raphael Ranee, Edward Mawthoh, Francis Ricardo Ranee Songthiang, Hameshaniah Suiam, Lorenza Songthiang and Belldona Pakyntein.
Given the high costs involved, the Meghalaya Association of Kickboxing Organisations (MAKO) has launched an appeal for funds from the public so that these six from the state can  take part in the tournament.
