Hit-and-run

On August 7 around 10.30 am, one local taxi (number not known) dashed against one Scooty (ML-05K-4294) ridden by Halovie Kharkongor (27) at Umshyrpi Bridge, Shillong. As a result, the rider of the scooty sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

Char Syih lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on July 31, while he was proceeding from Khliehriat towards Shillong in a Sumo vehicle (ML-04B-6603), his vehicle collided with a motorcycle (ML-05-6033) which was being driven in a rash and negligent manner, at Ladrymbai Petrol Pump in East Jaintia Hills. As a result, the rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries.

NGT ban violation

On August 6 around 1 am, while on vehicle checking duty, West Khasi Hills Police detected five coal laden trucks – AS-01EC-0762 driven by Nebok Jana, AS-01EC-0962 driven by Dlaster Sunn, AS-01Z-8887 driven by Rimaia Hinge, AS-01U-6962 driven by Rocky Susngi and AS-01AA-3587 driven by Wadjingsuk Hinge – at Bynther village in West Khasi Hills. All the trucks were seized and drivers arrested.

Stabbing

On August 6 around 7 pm, unidentified miscreants stabbed Akash Subba (20) of Assam Rifles Bazar, Happy Valley, Shillong, on his back with a lethal weapon. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.

Theft

On August 6 night, unknown miscreants stole two laptop computers, one GPS device and one Airtel dongle from the residence of Barnel Jasper Marbaniang at Lailad, Nongmynsong, Shillong.

Assault

Melington Pale of Nongjngi Moolaphew village in West Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on August 5 around 9 am, one Niwa Pale assaulted him with a stone. As a result, he sustained injuries on his head.

On August 3 around 4 am, one Bilgrak Sangma and his associates assaulted Pardeen R Marak and threatened him with dire consequences at Hawakhana, Tura (WGH). Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Tura.

Fraud

Nantu Mahato of Godwin Hotel, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on August 5 around 10 pm, he received an SMS that a purchase of Rs.38,780.43 was made by unknown persons through his account at Standard Chartered Bank, Bhubaneswar Branch, Odisha without his knowledge.
