SHILLONG: The A’chik Youth Welfare Organisation (AYWO) has lodged a complaint against the GHADC Public Information Officer (PIO) for failing to provide information under the RTI Act.

As per the complaint lodged with State Chief Information Commissioner, CD Kynjing on Friday, AYWO social welfare secretary, MG Momin said that he had sought information relating to the total staff strength of the GHADC, names of the present Executive Committee (EC) members, besides other queries concerning the Council.

While the stipulated time to furnish the information is 30 days, he said that even after 43 days, the PIO is yet to respond on the matter. “I would claim a penalty of Rs 250 per day till the information is received in accordance with the RTI Act,” he said while urging the SCIC to initiate an inquiry under various provisions of the Act at the earliest.
