SHILLONG: A solo exhibition of paintings and photographs by young aspiring artist, Madhumita Ghosh, was inaugurated by Padmashree Manas Chaudhuri on Sunday at the MAD Gallery, Laitumkhrah.

While inaugurating the exhibition, Chaudhuri lauded the effort of the artist and said, “I am aware that the young lady lives in a place very close to my office, but it takes me all the way to MAD Gallery to know that my neighbourhood girl, Madhumita, is a talented artist. We all are proud of her.”

Chaudhuri, while dwelling on her creative works, expressed concern over her career prospects, given the actual situation prevailing in the society; particularly in Delhi where she is pursuing a course in B.Sc. in Interior, Architecture and Design from Pearl Academy, New Delhi. The exhibition is open for the public till August 23
