St. Mary’s wins inter-college comedy competition

SHILLONG: An Inter-College Comedy Competition organized by SBUK as part of its silver jubilee celebration, was held on August 16 at U Soso Tham Auditorium, in which seven colleges from Khasi and Jaintia Hills participated.

The first prize which included a trophy and rupees ten thousand in cash was won by St. Mary’s College, Shillong, while the second and third prizes of rupees six thousand and rupees four thousand each along with trophies were awarded to Sankardev College and Shillong Commerce College, respectively. Rishanlang Mawrie of Shillong Commerce College and Jai Jai Lin Lyngwa of St. Mary’s College were adjudged best actor and best actress respectively. Consolation prize of rupees one thousand each was given to the other participating teams.

The competition was judged by Pradip Kurbah, Sweety Pala and Merlvin Mukhim.

W.H.D. Syngkon, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed the prizes to the winners.
