Forest guard accused of being involved in timber smuggling

SHILLONG: The Rongby Youth Association has alleged negligence on the part of one forest guard posted at Dima State Reserve Forest.
In a petition submitted to the Dainadubi State Forest Range Office, the Association alleged that timber was being smuggled from the forest for a very long time and the latest incident of timber smuggling occurred on August 16 morning where two persons were involved. The Association suspected that forest guard, Charmis Marak, was involved in the smuggling of timber from the forest.
