Job scheme anomaly
S.R. Marak, BDO, Resubelpara lodged a complaint at Bajengdoba PS that one Lansingwell Sangma alias Lukprince Sangma, secretary of Mendulam VEC (NGH), misappropriated Rs. 2,33,427 which was sanctioned to the Mendulam VEC under MGNREGS.
Fraud
Rajesh Bhowal of 101 Area, Upper Shillong lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on August 20 around 11.50 am, he received an SMS from ICICI Bank regarding credit card purchase. On enquiry, it was found that unknown person had made online purchase of Rs. 1101 from his account.
Car stolen
On August 20, miscreants stole one Maruti car (AS-01N-6944) belonging to Nayan Paul from Forest Colony, Shillong.
Coal stolen
Kwingly Snaitang lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on August 19 at around 7 pm, unknown miscreants stole his coal in two trucks from Maweit Sarin village (WKH). Later, two trucks (ML-09A-0397 & ML-06-6696) driven by one Hobelstar Nongrum (24) and Kyrmenskhem Ryntong (27) respectively were intercepted at Maweit village (WKH) and the drivers were arrested. The arrested truck drivers were found violating the NGT order and hence another case was registered.
Theft
One Kalpana K Deshmukh lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on August 19 at around 4 am, unknown miscreants entered her residence at Nongrim Hills, Shillong and stole Rs. 10,000.
Assault cases
One Laldin Puia lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on August 19 at around 4 am, one unidentified person forcibly entered his residence at Central Nongrim Hills, and manhandled his 20-year-old maid servant. However, when an alarm was raised, the miscreant fled away.
On July 16, Md. Abdul Kalam of Kullupara village (WGH) lodged a complaint at Mahendraganj PS that on July 12, 2104 at around 7 am, he received a telephone call from one Ashraf Ali of the same village. On the same day, Ashraf Ali along with four others– Ismail Ali, Anjuma Bewa, Abi Begum and Najima Begum– went to the residence of the complainant at Kullupara village and assaulted him and his daughter Kapasi Begum (17). As a result, both of them sustained injuries and were shifted to CHC Mahendraganj and later Kapasi Begum was shifted to Civil Hospital Tura.
Complaint against husband
Moina Mohanto of Madanrting, lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on May 7, 2014, her husband Gogon Mohanto stole Rs. 2 lakh and fled away. She further alleged that he also took a loan of Rs. 1,50,000 from a private company.
