Kohima: The US Consulate General Helen LaFave, who arrived at Dimapur on Sunday, is on her maiden visit to Nagaland and she visited the ‘Medicinal & Aromatic Nursery’ located at 5th Mile Dimapur near Green Park, courtesy the Nagaland Bio Resource Mission (NBRM).
According to official sources on Monday the US Consulate General Helen, who was on her way to the state capital Kohima, said she was impressed by the joint efforts of the Nagaland Bio Resources Mission (NBRM) and proprietor of the nursery, Nihokhu Chophy, in bringing about a green revolution to improve the state’s economy in the long run.
NBRM team leader, Khroulalie Tsurho, in his welcome address briefed the US Consulate General and her entourage on the various activities undertaken by NBRM since its inception in 2007.
Managing Director of ‘Medicinal & Aromatic Nursery’, Nihokhu Chophy, also highlighted to the visiting delegation and NBRM officials on the business of his small enterprise since its inception in 2001.
Stating that she was impressed by the agricultural practices in Nagaland, Helen expressed confidence that through the joint efforts of the state Government and the public, Nagaland would go a long way in securing food self-sufficiency. (UNI)
