Woman jumps out of moving taxi to escape abduction bid

SHILLONG: A lady had to jump out of a moving local taxi (ML-05F-0404) driven by one Banshynshar Thabah (28) to save herself from an abduction bid in the city on August 20 around 7.45 pm.
The victim filed a complaint at Rynjah PS following which the driver of the taxi has been arrested. In the complaint the victim stated that she had boarded the taxi from Fire Brigade Junction to Umpling. However, on reaching Umpling Lawmaw, she asked the driver to stop, but instead of stoping the drive continued to drive his vehicle towards Itshyrwat.
Sensing trouble, she jumped out of the moving taxi at Itshyrwat and sustained injuries.
