SHILLONG: A one-day orientation programme on IBDLP for Departmental Officers and members of Cooperative Societies was organised by MIE, Shillong in collaboration with the office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Mawkyrwat.The orientation programme was inaugurated by South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner R. Lyngdoh.

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
