District-level Quiz, Debate competitions

NONGSTOIN: Anderson Higher Secondary School, Upper New Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills, will represent the district at the State-level competition in both Debate and Quiz following their win in the district-level Inter-School Quiz and Debate competition organized by the District Sport Officer on Wednesday at Anderson H.S. School Auditorium.

The competition was participated by Sibsingh Memorial Higher Secondary School and Anderson Higher Secondary School from Nongstoin Block, Little Star English Medium School from Mairang Block, Kynshi Higher Secondary School from Mawthadraishan Block and Christ King Secondary School from Mawshynrut Block.

The Quiz competition was won by Banriakor Myrthong and Kevinson Nongsiang while Divya Tiwari bagged the first prize in the Debate competition.

Little Star English Medium School, Mairang emerged second in the Quiz while Kynshi Higher Secondary School secured the second position in the Debate competition. Christ King Secondary School and Sibsingh Memorial Government Higher Secondary school managed to win the third places.

The Office of the District Sports Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, will organize the Inter-School Quiz and Debate competition on September 10 for Laskein Block and Jowai Zone, while the events for schools from Amlarem and Thadlaskein Block would be held on September 11.

The district-level competitions would be held on September 15 at Science Hall, Circuit House, New Hill, Jowai.
