SHILLONG: The State Annual Boxing Championship, which was held at Indoor Sports Hall behind JN Sports Complex, Polo, concluded on Friday.
A total number of 160 plus athletes (both boys and girls) representing 11 different associations participated in the event. This year, the association decided to conduct the team championship only for the Boy’s Sub-Junior level. For other categories, there were only individual events.
The athletes representing boxing clubs from Upper Shillong,West Khasi Hills,Mawngap,Pynthor and Green Heart Boxing Club of Mawlai had peformed outstandingly in the event.
Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation (MGCC) chairman RV Lyngdoh along with Mawkynrew MDC felicitated the winners of during the concluding ceremony.
