SHILLONG: The State Government has finally released the merit list of candidates qualifying the entrance examination for admission to MBBS courses for the year 2014 in various institutions under the Central pool.
“The merit list was published on Saturday,” Health and Family Welfare secretary KW Marbaniang informed here on Sunday.
He said that like last year altogether 56 seats have been allotted to the State under the Central pool this year.
According to the senior government official, as per the Medical Council of India (MCI) directive, the last date for the students to take admission is September 31.
It may be mentioned that this year for the first time that the State Government had conducted a State Entrance Test (SET) for selection of candidates for admission to MBBS courses.
“The State Reservation Policy has been taken into account while preparing the list,” a senior government official had informed.
