TURA: The body of UALA deputy commander, Jagring, who was allegedly killed by his subordinates on Tuesday was retrieved from the outfit’s camp at Dajugre near Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills in a major operation carried out jointly by Meghalaya Police and the BSF on Wednesday.

According to West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, Mukesh Kumar Singh, the militant commander had been killed by his own cadres and buried at the camp.

The police team along with the BSF had carried out the raid on the camp based on inputs given out by UALA cadre, Debura R Marak, who was arrested from Dadenggre in West Garo Hills on Tuesday.

“Debura was a close aide of Jagring. We believe that the militants left the camp after killing Jagring and burying him there,” the district police chief informed.

A search of the camp led to police recovering dummy AK rifles including empty rice bags.
