SHILLONG: A delegation of Modi Fan Club led by its president, Dondor Singh Rumnong, called on Rajya Sabha member Chandan Mitra, during his visit to Shillong on Saturday last.

The delegation apprised him of the various problems of the State including the deteriorating law and order situation in Garo Hills and the NGT ban on rat hole mining.

Mitra gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation that he would take up the issues with the Union Government.

Meanwhile, the Modi Fan Club has decided not to celebrate its foundation day on September 17 coinciding with Narendra Modi’s birthday respecting the wish of the Prime Minister to do away with any kind of celebration on his birthday in view of the devastating floods in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Modi Fan Club has also decided to raise funds and relief materials for the flood-affected victims of Jammu & Kashmir.
