NONGSTOIN: The FKJGP Nongstoin circle has demanded the completion of the bridge connecting Upper New Nongstoin and Tiehsaw village which has been pending for years.

Stating that the bridge would be the key to easing traffic congestion in Nongstoin, FKJGP general secretary Willis Syiem said that a pillar is all that has been constructed in the last 14 years.

“This shows the irresponsible attitude of the PWD,” Syiem said.

The FKJGP members also met the Executive Engineer PWD (Roads) on Tuesday and demanded that immediate action be taken to ensure the completion of the construction work. The pressure group, which has decided to pursue the matter till the project is completed, has also asked the Chief Engineer, Shillong, to review the project cost.
